Where the figures come from

Rates are computed from the live international gold spot price (XAU/USD) and the current USD to PKR exchange rate. It's the same method used across the gold trade, refreshed automatically throughout the day.

24K, 22K, 21K, and 18K explained

24K is pure gold. 22K, 21K, and 18K are lower-purity alloys, and most jewellery in Pakistan is sold in 22K or 21K, priced at that purity's share of the 24K rate.

Tola, gram, and ounce

1 tola equals 11.6638 grams, the standard weight used for gold pricing across Pakistan and South Asia. Rates are also shown per gram, per 10 grams, and per troy ounce.
